I have absolutely LOVED photography my entire life, starting with an old Kodak 126 film camera when I was a kid. I honestly can't remember a time when I didn't want to have a camera in my hand. My favorite subjects to photograph are anything out in nature-mammals, birds, sunrises or sunsets, spider webs coated in dew, snow capped mountains, . . .well you get the idea. I have never had formal photography training, I mainly take photos I like, in the hopes that others will enjoy them as well.

I also have a passion for horses, which I have ridden my entire life-the strength, grace and freedom of riding compares to nothing else I have ever done.

I have 'discovered' a place that combines my two passions: Assateague Island, a small barrier island off the coast of Maryland & Virginia. In addition to the varied critters such as deer, rabbits, fox, migratory birds, and an occasional sea mammal, there are two herds of horses on the island, one in Maryland, which are truly wild horses, they have the run of the island and do not receive any human intervention such as hoof or vet care. The herd of ponies on the Virginia side are managed by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company and they are regularly rounded up and given vet care (and the roundups make for some fun photos!). In addition, the foals are auctioned every July as a fundraiser for the fire company.

All the photos I have listed have been taken in the Mid-Atlantic area near where I live-obviously Assateague Island, also Conowingo Dam in Maryland, a wonderful place to see Bald Eagles, especially in the fall, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland is also a great place to see eagles as well as various waterfowl.

I truly hope you enjoy viewing my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them! Let me know if you have any questions either regarding the subjects of the photo or where they were taken-I would love to hear from you!
