Description
Aragonite, a crystalline form of calcium carbonate (formula: CaCO3). This mineral can be formed under high pressures during the formation of metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. However, it is unstable at high temperatures, when it spontaneously converts to calcite, another form of calcium carbonate. This specimen is from Morocco.
