Description
This is one work from a series called "Seven figures in Limbo". I was playing with the idea of painting lifelike figures that were caught in between worlds: the painted world and the three dimensional world. Any illusion of "reality" is pierced by grommets in the figure where it is attached by bungee cords and ropes. The background pieces become more abstract as they recede. Figure, Cloth, Black shape, white ground. The work attempts to show a state of being that has come forward from the void but is caught in its own strange reality.
