This is actually two trees that share one base trunk. It's huge. Even with my ultra-wide zoom lens I had to get back quite a ways to get the whole tree in the picture. I had just written a short-story called "The Courting Tree" and this one was just what I imagined the tree in my story to look like.

James R. Stout is an experienced photographer specializing in landscape, rural scenes, vintage Americana, and inspiring photographs.
