The studio is pitch black, my camera is mounted on a tripod and set to capture ten (10) 2.50-second long exposures. I press the shutter button to initiate the 10-second time delay and get myself in position.

With numerous light sources in my hand, I face the camera while the timer completes the countdown. Once the shutter opens I am already moving the light sources in a fast flowing rhythm. The sensor is my canvas, and two seconds later the result is a unique, one-of-a-kind work-of-art.

After the ten (10) long exposures are complete, I examine the results and usually will have a couple of candidates for consideration. I am always surprised by the results.

All of my photographs have been cropped and some have been rotated, nothing has been added except my signature.

After light painting thousands of images, I can say it is impossible for me or anyone to make an exact duplicate. There are simply too many variables involved.
