Description
I have many fond memories of helping my Grandmother do her wash using her Maytag Wringer Washer! She refused to buy a modern automatic washing machine, even though my mother and her son each owned one! Another fond memory was helping her hang all the clothes on the clothesline after they were washed! I captured this image behind Granny's Shed with her old Wringer Washing Machine, Maytag, after it had finally "seen its day"! The Rustic look - creatively decorated with Red Berry Bush and basket of snow. Beautiful. I, too, have wonderful memories of helping my Grandmother do laundry using a wringer washer and hanging out the clothes. Season changes were irrelevant. Sunny, rainy or snow...the laundry was hung out. I remember her taking it down in winter months and the shirts and pants were frozen in form. They were brought in and 'stood' by the coal stove. Tough times but the best memories!

Thanks for your memorable comments, Jacqueline! The older generation is such an inspiration to me as well! After they dryed, next came the iron and ironing board to get out any stubborn wrinkles!

Beautiful find and capture (and I remember my grandmother actually using this type of washer!). l/f
